Yeah, I know it's been a looooooong time since I updated my Xanga. Sorry about that, I've been busy with family and friends and eating turkey and stuff. -Mellow-. Anyway...what's been going on with me, hmm. Well, first of all, Christmas. Christmas was a big thing with all of my mum and dad's families coming together up north for an uberparty which I went to. Was a lot of fun: 'specially after meh uncle started dancing around the room; bit too much wine I think. LOL. Umm... New Year's was a lot of fun too, uncle and aunt from Switzerland came down to our house and we had a good time; drank champagne and wine until we all fell over.. xD.

Annnnnnnd good news! =D. Elveh James is an official member of the FMA crew now, as our awesome Colonel Roy Mustang! Welcome friendly! *Attacks Elveh with banners and such.* XD.

I am now going to steal Elveh's idea and do a little blurb on meh FMA buddies. :3

Winry Rockbell :: Winry, you're absolutely awesome. I've known you for almost five years, and you still continue to amaze me with your caring, loving attitude. You comfort people in a way I could never achieve, and you're an inspiration to all. I love you with all my heart, every step I take, every thought I think, every breath I take is for you. You drive everything I do, and my love for you will never cease. <3333333333333333333333333333.

Alphonse Elric :: Brother, you too, are awesome. We've known each other for a long time now and I swear, in real life, we probably could pass as brothers. You're an awesome person, a great Role Player, and my greatest friend. You're a fantastic Role Player and I'll always respect you for that: you have some cool ideas up in your head. You play a great Envy, and I promise you that'll be taller than you one day! (*speaking as Ed there* XD)

Roy Mustang :: We didn't get along at first, but then again, neither did Ed and Roy. Things have changed though, for the better, and I'd consider you one of meh special friends (anyone from AU would be special to meh, AND you're an oldie! :3). I haven't RPed with you yet, but I bet you're awesome, and you're a great addition to our little foursome!
Chapter
Two

The
Irish Intention

Lavender set the table that night mindlessly, her
hands shaking and her forehead sweating. Twice she nearly dropped the cutlery
by accident, which gave her son, Laiv, quite a fright. When the kids had come
home from school for the summer holidays, they hadn’t expected their father to
have been arrested before they had come back, so they were innocent when they
stopped their mother from her work and sat her down to find out what was wrong.

“We’re not sure why he was taken away,” Lavender
finished, after she had told them the story of what had happened a week ago,
“All we know is that anything could have happened to him…”
            Laiv, being the eldest child,
spoke up, hugging his mother, “Mom, I’m so sorry…if I had been here I could
have helped…”

Kurai also gave a sad face, but since she was only in
kindergarten, she really didn’t understand the seriousness of the situation:
she thought that her father had just gone off on a work project or something.
So cute, those cute, undisturbed minds.

Lavender hugged her children, and for a long time, the
three of them sat together, pondering what had happened to the man known as
Lightning: that is, under the doorbell rang.

Laiv got up, walking cautiously to the door, and peeped
it open, keeping the chain on the door. “Yes?”

It was the mailman, Randle. “Urgent mail for Mrs.
Lavender Bolt. Your mum in there, Laiv?”

The boy nodded, thanked him, and grabbed the letter,
shutting the door. He launched across the foyer, running into the living room
around the stairs, and shoved the letter under Kurai’s head so that his mother
could get it.

Lavender cocked her head at her son, before taking the
envelope and tearing it open. Inside, scribbled in nearly illegible
handwriting, was a note. The stamp on the front of the envelope showed two sharp
cliffs, and the words ‘Northern
Mountains’ were etched
around the outside rings.

            Lavender,

I’m on the train to Westminster right now. Milieul wrote and told
me about Lightning. You poor dear…I’ll
be there faster than the Irish can blow their bagpipes! Just hang on, my little
Irish sister.

       Love,

              Rose

Lavender looked at the name scribbled at the bottom of
the note, and laughed joyously. Rose was a mage of the northern mountains of
A-U, a friend that had been special to both Lavender and Lightning for years
now. Rose and Lavender were even known as ‘A-U’s Only Irish Sisters’ they were
so close. To have a friend coming from the other side of the world during a
crisis was enough to make anyone happy.

Another knock at the door. Laiv got up again, running
back down to the foyer, and cracking the door open a smidge. Outside, a lock of
blonde hair blocked Laiv’s sight.

“Hey, Laiv,” said the low voice of Edward, “It’s me,
Edward. You probably don’t remember me…I last saw you when you were barely a
year old. Tell your mother that I’m here with a friend of her’s.”

Laiv shouted up to his mother, “Mom! Some guy called
Edward’s here! Can I let him in?”

Lavender smiled to herself. “Yes! Come on in, Ed!”

Edward walked in as Laiv removed the chain, followed hastily
by Milieul. Laiv gave a gasp at the sight of her, but the elf only smiled at
him, accompanying Edward to the living room, where Lavender was seated with a
sleeping Kurai on the couch.

            “Mili!” shouted
Lavender, hugging her elven friend as she stooped down. She then shook hands
with Edward, nodding. “What do I owe the honour?”

“We’re here to help plan an escape for your husband,”
Edward informed her seriously, one fist clenched at his side, very much like
Lightning used to during a stressful situation, “in any way that we can.”

Milieul nodded at Edward’s statement. “Yes. Lav, if
there’s anything we can do to help…”

Lavender was about to reply when the lights went down
throughout the mansion. In the middle of the room, a glowing, spinning green
circle of runes emerged, slowly speeding up in its rotation, until a wave of
energy erupted through the house, the source being those spinning runes. A tube
of green light shot up to the ceiling, as a person materialized there, hooded
and cloaked. The circle and the tube disappeared, the lights flickering back to
life as the hood was pulled down, to reveal a head full of gold-brown hair and
sparkling emerald eyes with peachy skin.

            “Rose!”
Lavender shouted again, overwhelmed at seeing her friend again after two years
of horrible communication silence.

            “Lav!” Rose
shouted back, hugging her Irish sister tightly. “How are you? Oh, how dumb of
me…”

“You know already, I think,” Lavender replied sadly, but
still couldn’t hide the happiness that was seeing Rose again.

“Indeed I do,” Rose replied, looking over at Edward and
Milieul now. “Mili, good to see you. And you too, I suppose, Mr…?”

“Elric,” Edward said, shaking hands with Rose politely,
“Edward Elric.”

“Edward, very good,” Rose commented with a wink, “Well, let’s
get cracking then, shall we? Best not to keep the poor dear locked up any
longer than he needs to be.”

            “Yes, let’s do this thing!”

It was hours before the bloody gits decided to feed me,
and the food wasn’t even half decent, either. If you’re stuck in a prison, you
deserve at least seven meals a day, even if the food sucks. You only earn your
prisoner’s respects by treating them properly. Well, if the leader of this
joint wanted to get anything out of me, he’d have to be really good, ‘cause there’s no fat chance I was doing anything in
this state.

Chewing slowly on the soggy bread, I
continued watching the other prisoners, trying to conjure up the best possible
escape plan that would not only free myself, but the others as well. Hmm…I had
an idea.

Chapter Two

Chapter
One

A Hero’s Best Friend

Edward Elric trudged through the gravel, his long,
blonde hair stained with mud and blood which dripped down onto his red robes,
but he didn’t bother to wipe it off. It would only come down again anyway. Not
that he cared. He had no one waiting for him to tell him off for not keeping
clean. He had been living alone for the last few years, and had only moved to
this new country just a few days ago. He had heard a lot about it from his
close friend Lightning, who also lived in these parts.

The small, wooden hut in the distance was what hue now
called home. Ever since the death of his mother, father, and brother, he had
been forced to care for himself, ever since the age of 15. He was now
seventeen, closing in on eighteen, and more independent than any of his family
would have ever hoped. Sure, he had been tactless as a kid, trying things
without first checking all the precautions…it was what had resulted in him
losing an arm and a leg to a freak accident. Cringing on that thought, he
opened the door to his hut, stepping in. The wall facing him was decorated with
pictures of his friends and family: on the left, his mother, father, brother,
and him standing side-by-side in a forest near their original home in Japan; next
was him and Lightning as kids, the hedgehog was towering over him at that
point; next was a wedding picture of Lightning and Lavender; the one following
that was of his late brother, Alphonse, who had died trying to save Edward in a
fight two years ago; and finally, a picture of his parents on the far right. He
smiled at these as he entered, closing and locking the door behind him. Sitting
at the small, square table in the middle of the two-room house, he leaned back
on his chair, closing his eyes.

            It’s been two
years, he thought, two years since he
died. I can still see it plainly in my mindscape…Alphonse, as he jumped up to
block the blast, and losing everything. It still brings tears to my eyes to
think about it…that’s why I had to leave…start a new life for myself in the
wilderness of A-U’s outer boundaries. I decided to follow Lightning’s advice
for once, and found myself thanking him for providing me a Plan B out of
misery.

“I should go thank him,” he said out loud this time,
“After all, it’s the only reason I’m-“

            “Suilad,” said
a voice from the corner.

Edward jumped up, raising his fist, which was being
circled by Alchemy (his natural talent and power since birth) as he approached
the voice. “Who are you? Why are you here?”

The figure stepped out of the shallow darkness, only a
mouth visible under the shade of the hood. “I am a friend,” the figure said in
a soft voice, “here to warn you of some ill fate.”

Edward raised an eyebrow. He’d been in this kind of
situation before.

            “What?” Edward asked cautiously.

“You know Lightning Bolt, of the West Wood, yes?” asked
the figure.

            “Yes.”

“I regret to inform you that he has been reported missing
by Westminster
officials.”

            “WHAT!?”

“He was abducted by the new lord’s armed forces last
week.”

            “How do you know…?”

“I am friends with his wife, Lavender. I can see, by your
ornaments, that you know her as well.”

            “Yes…”

“Help me. We must get him back.”

            “…”

Edward looked at the figure as the robe was removed to
reveal a beautiful young elf, with long, flowing silver hair, sapphire blue
eyes, and pale skin.

“My name is Milieul,” the elf said in a sooth, flowing
voice, “Nice to meet your acquaintance, Edward Elric.”

            “You…know my name?” Edward asked.

            “Only from Lightning.”

            “Then let’s go get him.”

The cold, damp floor met
my bare hands before I could really register what was going on. The click of
the metal door locking me in was heard, and I silently cursed to myself. So the
new authorities thought I was a threat, eh? Well, I’d prove them right, that’s
for sure. Sighing, I pulled myself off the grimy floor, and sat on the damp,
stone bed in the corner. Never mind, I’ll take the floor instead.

Sitting back on the floor again, I decided to look out
the bars of my cell out onto the corridor of, oh what a surprise, more cells.
Several prisoners stared at me, giving me sad but knowing looks, and slunk back
away into their own prisons. I could hear a small child screaming for his
mother on the other side of the hall. How badly I wanted to help that
kid…adults he could understand, but punishing kids? That was beyond cruel. God,
the head of this place was going to get one hell of an ass kicking when he
busted out.

            Don’t
worry, kid, I thought, clenching a fist, I’ll get you out, and everyone else who’s been sentenced to hell in
this place.

Tuesday, December 05, 2006

Prologue

A Life
without Lavender

It was something I thought I’d never have to go
through. I knew times were bad when we heard about the new King, but I never
thought he’d go far enough to actually kidnap
someone. I guess I underestimated him. After Grievous, one could only expect
there wasn’t any bigger or better people out there to come after you. Boy, was
I wrong. It wasn’t long after the King was put into power that we got word of
the little village girl’s capture. The paper said she would be ‘put to good
use’ and ‘that her parents should be proud’. What a joke. I saw what happened
to that little girl. She was ragged, beaten, and openly bleeding from numerous
wounds when I saw her slaving away in the courtyards of the castle. From that
moment, I knew there was going to be trouble. A tense feeling filled our small
town in the days that followed, as more and more children were being abducted.
Everyday coming home from work at the local deli, I saw children working
tirelessly for the king, crying and sweating. One even begged me for help.
Feeling guilty, I left the child, promising myself I would free the little
tykes one day. When I got home that day, my wife, Lavender, asked me what was
on my mind. Feeling even more guilty that I hadn’t freed the child, I told her
it was nothing, hoping she wouldn’t worry if she didn’t know what had really
happened. I knew better than to lie to my wife, but if I told her that I
planned to put my newly hatched plan the very next evening, I knew it would put
her in danger. That was something I would never do unless it was absolutely
necessary.

So, sure enough, the next day coming home from work, I
had packed light: I had left my uniform at the deli, and was wearing my casual
outfit of blue pants, a while t-shirt, and my brown pilot’s jacket. Again, the
child came up to me. I put my fingers to my lips, and summoned my unusual
ability: electricity crackled at my fingers as I burn away the iron keeping me
from the courtyards. The children quickly climbed under the tiny hole I had
made to freedom; without wasting time, I led them away to their houses.

It wasn’t a day after that that guards of the royal
palace were trying to break down our door. I remember the door break off its
hinges, guards rushing in. I stood in front of Lavender, shielding her, but it
wasn’t her they wanted. It was me. Without really realizing it, they had
karate-chopped my neck, and were shackling my wrists behind my back before I
could react. I felt wood rub across my arm, then dirt. They were dragging me
away.
“Lavender!” I yelled, as she came running to the door. “LAV!”

Lavender didn’t replied, only stood there with a horrified
look on her face, as I probably did too. I was being dragged off to prison for
God knew how long.

What was I going to do? For once…I was expected to live
life without my beloved Lavender.

Last night I did my first of babysitting for a client OTHER than my parents. W00T. Anyway, the kids were great. Really energetic and fun to hang around with - didn't have to do much, either - just play video games with 'em, watch a movie, and then get them glasses of water for bed. The younger one didn't want to go to bed, though. T'was quite annoying to chase him around the basement for five minutes in order to herd him up the stairs...

Anyways, once they were in bed... I was just so bored! x_x; There was absolutely nothing to do once they were alseep. All the videogames they owned were of sports (and plus, I've no flippin' clue how to work a PS2), which I don't really like all that much (I'm more of a Legend of Zelda kinda guy). So I resorted to watching old MXC episodes and nighttime comedy, which wasn't too bad. That's when I found out I was allowed to use their laptop! So now, when I go off for my job, I'll post when I'm going on here: some of you please be on, so I can talk, and not be bored out of my mind.. PLEASE! I BEG OF YOU! ;-;.

On a happier note (kinda), I should be able to get my Wii this weekend or sometime next week. Yay! I cannot wait for mine. They're so white... and pretty... and SHINY! Whoo! XD.

In other news, I'm thinking of starting a Podcast about.. well, pretty much anything. If anyone's interested, email me at edward.elric.cos@gmail.com. I'll be sure to respond to your ideas A.S.A.P.

Well that's pretty much it. I'm beat. x_x
Byes,
Lightning.

Quick-Time...

Quick entry whie I'm here. Added a song, "True Light", sung by the Japanese voice actor of Daisuke Niwa from DNAngel. (Vic Mignogna as Dark in the 'dub is fantastic *-*). Going to buy a Nintendo Wii with birthday money!! ^_^;

Fun fun! ~Lightybolt~

Long time, no update. o_o;

SORRY GUYS! I've been so busy with auditioning for fandubs and posting on forums and all that other stuff that I completely forgot about my Xanga! x_x; Anyway, plan to bring some changes to this thing. Hopefully a new layout (seeing as FMA is my current favourite; Tsubasa is a close second, though!) and background music! And more people! Yay! =D

In other news, *cough*, Nintendo Wii comes out in eight days in the U.S. and Canada. If I don't get one, I'm going to murder someone. o_o; Not literally, of course. But it looks so aweeeeesooooomeee... D= *drools*. Twilight Princess is first on the Must-Get-Before-Someone-Is-Killed-List XD.

In other.. other.. news, Red Dawn to all the Rangers. You all rule! All hail the Fuhrer, who rules as well. =)

Live long and prosper, Vic!!

~Light~
